Explore the Area : Silloth

With its grand Victorian houses, wide cobbled streets and fine seaward vistas this beautiful and unspoilt Victorian town is a delightful destination.

The seafront promenade which leads to Silloth is just 250m away from our caravan park. There is plenty to do in Silloth and the surrounding areas, rain or shine!

The level countryside of the Solway Plain is ideal for walking and easy cycling, and offers easy access to the Cumbria Cycle Way. The area has been designated a World Heritage Site because of its Roman military remains  and Hadrian’s Wall defence network so there is plenty of history to explore as well.

Nearby the Solway Marshes are noted for rare plant, bird and animal life and the coast near Silloth has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB). The Solway Coast is also a popular location for bird watching, particularly seabirds and migratory birds.

Just 2 miles from our caravan park is the sprawling 12-mile stretch of West Beach, which has been awarded a prestigious Yellow Flag by the Tidy Britain Group.  Sea fishing in Silloth is very popular and several sea fishing competitions are held here.

In Silloth there are swimming pools, tennis courts, bowling, amusement arcades, a Sunday Market, the Solway Coast Discovery Centre and a children’s playground. There is also a putting green and fun fair, both situated on ‘The Green’ plus a large open grassed recreational area where frequent festivals and events take place.

Also close to the town is Silloth-on-Solway golf course, an 18-hole natural links championship golf course that is open all year round. Members of a recognised golf club may play as guests here.

The charm and attraction of this beautiful Cumbrian holiday resort keep visitors returning year after year, come and see for yourself what the area has to offer!
